Job Summary
Lead detailed design of protection and control packages, including one-line diagrams, relaying schematics, and equipment specifications for utility substations. Coordinate power system studies such as short circuit and load flow analysis, review submittals for client conformance, and manage project scheduling and cost estimates. Assign work to entry-level staff, verify design accuracy, and mentor team members toward career growth while supporting business development through proposal preparation and change order write-ups. Maintain strong client relationships, adhere to applicable codes and standards, and work additional hours as required to complete projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
- 8+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
- FE is required
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- A strong command of the English language
- Good interpersonal and people skills
Desired Qualifications
- electric power option preferred
- Ideally, experience with HB Substations for datacenters
- High proficiency with power system software such as DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, EasyPower, ETAP or SKM, CDEGS, and CYMCAP preferred
- Ability to develop staff through mentoring and coaching
- Proven record of delivering a high standard of quality work with attention to detail
