Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •High school diploma or GED
• •Minimum one to three years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, behavioral health needs, or related populations
• •CPR and First Aid certification
• •Valid driver's license
• •Ongoing compliance with all agency and insurer driving eligibility requirements
• •Current vehicle registration
• •Current vehicle inspection
• •Current vehicle insurance coverage
• •Knowledge of person-centered practices and community-based support services for individuals with intellectual disabilities and related needs
• •Ability to support, coach, and guide staff in community-based service environments while reinforcing program expectations and compliance standards
• •Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to build positive relationships with individuals, families, staff, and community partners
• •Ability to maintain accurate documentation, records, and service information within electronic systems, including CareLogic or similar platforms
• •Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing responsibilities, and support daily program operations in a fast-paced environment
• •Knowledge of confidentiality requirements and ethical standards related to human services and protected information
• •Ability to exercise sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making within established program guidelines and under the guidance of leadership
• •Ability to participate effectively in interdisciplinary meetings, assessments, and collaborative planning activities
• •Basic proficiency with computer systems, Microsoft Office applications, electronic documentation systems, and communication tools
• •Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• •Ability to speak clearly
• •Ability to hear and understand verbal communication
• •Ability to engage effectively in both in-person and virtual meetings
• •Ability to enter and exit vehicles
• •Ability to drive agency vehicles
• •Ability to assist individuals entering and exiting vehicles for community activities
• •Ability to navigate community environments including uneven surfaces, stairs, curbs, and public spaces while supporting individuals safely
• •Ability to lift and carry materials up to 20 lbs
• •Frequent travel between Barber National Institute locations, program sites, or community-based settings
• •Flexibility to support operational needs outside of standard business hours, including evenings or weekends
• •Successful completion of all regulatory and agency-mandated clearances, including criminal background checks, child abuse clearances, and fingerprinting
• •Ongoing compliance with all required clearances, professional development, and certification requirements outlined in applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies
• •Ability to model and reinforce safety practices
• •Ability to ensure staff participate in required safety learning
• •Ability to escalate risks promptly to protect individuals, families, and team members

Desired Qualifications

• •Associate degree in human services, psychology, education, rehabilitation, social services, or a related field
• •Prior experience providing community-based services, staff guidance, service coordination, or program support
• •ACRE certification
• •Experience in community-based or human service settings
