Job Summary
Coordinate general laboratory services including specimen collection, blood component preparation, pre-analytic processing, waived testing, and moderate complexity testing. Manage patient and specimen registration and delivery while performing clerical tasks. Lead the laboratory team in coordination duties, serving approximately 25% of the time as an ad hoc leader. Requires high school graduation or GED equivalent, with an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred. Must complete initial and six-month competency assessments for identified testing, plus an annual competency assessment. Minimum one year of laboratory experience required, with two years preferred. Full-time, day shift from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.
Required Qualifications
- HS Grad or GED Equivalent
- Successfully completion of an initial and six (6) month competency for identified testing
- Successfully completion an annual competency assessment for identified testing
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a laboratory setting
- Working knowledge of computers
- Excellent telephone skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member and leader
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
- Complex problem-solving skills with ability to discern when to escalate
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related science
- Two (2) years of experience preferred
