Job Summary
Lead a team of 5-7 Java Software Engineers in an agile R&D setting at Guardsquare, driving day-to-day development, mentoring teammates, setting coding standards, translating business needs into technical specs, enforcing testing practices, and fostering continuous improvement within a hybrid Leuven-based team; requires a Masters in CS and 5+ years of experience with at least 3 years in a team-lead role, strong Java knowledge, leadership capabilities, and excellent English communication.
Required Qualifications
- Masters in computer science with 5+ years of experience, of which at least 3 as a Team Lead
- Proven track record of achieving results with teams
- Experience setting performance goals and performing appraisals
- Strong programming fundamentals
- Previous experience with low level programming is an asset
- Deep knowledge of Java is also a nice plus
- A no-nonsense and pragmatic attitude, continuously raising the bar
- Excellent English communication
- Understanding the value of in-person leadership in a hybrid work environment
