Job Summary
Team Lead I will provide daily work direction of the production line, drive continuous improvement using AMS tools, coach and train production employees, and coordinate movement of staff to meet output and safety/quality metrics. The role oversees a department of 5-40 production associates, leads Tier 1 problem solving and cross-training, maintains visual management tools, participates in AMS-driven improvements (5 Why, PDCA, MCA), and ensures adherence to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and maintenance standards. Requires leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and effective communication, with a focus on performance against SQDC metrics and supporting AMS projects.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement processes such as 5S and problem-solving methods.
- Lean training or certification preferred.
- Knowledge of operations products, processes, and equipment including safety, quality, changeover and set-up skills and knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and basic machine diagnostic skills.
- Understand the interdependencies across the value stream.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate employees.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying constraints or barriers, problem solving, delegation and sound decision making.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and effectively working with others.
