Job Summary
Supervise quantity and quality determination inspections of ships, barges, shore tanks, and pipeline transfers, ensuring correct execution per client requirements, ASTM/API standards, and Company policies. Assure accurate Field reporting, confirm quantities with terminal personnel, and cover Coordinators, Dispatchers, and Operations staff as needed. Provide Field training, conduct audits, monitor equipment, and manage employee performance, timekeeping, and discipline. Liaise with Branch office personnel to ensure effective communication across stakeholders. Recognize and proactively resolve field issues while directing projects under pressure. Work weekends and maintain 24/7 on-call availability. Must work with chemical and petroleum products, climb, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds, including confined spaces with respirator use.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or general education degree (GED)
- A minimum five (5) years field experience
- two (2) years Supervisory experience in the Inspection Industry
- strong working knowledge of required reporting procedures
- Position requires incumbent to work weekends
- Position requires incumbent to be on call 24/7 when needed
- Must be able to work with all chemical, petrochemical, and petroleum products
- Must be able to climb, bend and stretch without restriction
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and utilize a respirator
- At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
- Must have experience working in assigned Terminals
- familiar with their policies and procedures
- Ability to recognize potential field issues/problems and use initiative to resolve pro-actively
- Ability to give/receive constructive criticism without prejudice in order to hone skills and correct deficiencies
- Ability to build and lead an effective team
