Team Lead - Electrical Engineering - Oil and Gas

Job Summary
Lead a team of engineers, drafters, and technicians to deliver accurate, timely electrical engineering scopes for industrial clients in the Permian Basin. Formulate annual business plans, assign work, and coordinate workload using resource planning tools to ensure high backlog utilization and margins. Mentor team members through individualized development plans while reviewing submittals for conformance with client specifications and design standards. Prepare technical write-ups for change orders, manage engineering budgets, and support business development by assisting with proposals and maintaining strong client relationships. Work additional hours as required to complete projects and administrative functions while adhering to safety guidelines and professional codes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
- 5+ years of engineering or relevant field experience
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Applicants must physically live within the Midland/Odessa Texas area
- Professional, articulate, and able to exercise good independent judgement and discretion
- Highly organized, motivated self-starter
- Proven record of delivering a high standard of quality work with attention to detail
- Comfortable working with limited information to create system designs and plans
- Flexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with a quickly growing team
- Good interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills; ability to interact successfully at all levels of the organization; high emotional intelligence
- Ability to develop staff through mentoring and coaching
- Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
- Good interpersonal and people skills
Desired Qualifications
- PE is preferred but can be offset with industry experience
- Previous leadership experience within a consulting organization
- Proficiency with power system software such as PSSE, PSCAD, PLSCADD, ETAP, SKM
- Proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT and/or Copilot
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and standard computer software
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically in power engineering
- Previous experience with contracts, rates, T&Cs
