Job Summary
Hands-on DevOps Team Lead role in a remote-capable setting (Waterloo, Ontario) leading a DevOps/SRE-focused team. You will mentor and coach engineers while contributing as an engineer, driving cloud-native transformation, GitOps adoption, and DevSecOps practices to ensure scalable, secure, and observable CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with development (Java & Angular) and security teams, align strategies with Architecture, and communicate progress to senior management. Key skills include Jenkins, Bitbucket, Gradle, ArgoCD/Flux, cloud-native architectures, Docker/Kubernetes, IaC, observability (Prometheus/Grafana/ELK), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a DevOps or software engineering team
- Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code
- Experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket, Gradle, and GitOps tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux)
- Solid background in cloud-native architectures and deployment strategies
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration
- Understanding of DevSecOps best practices and security automation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams and geographies
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their DevOps toolchains
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
- Background in performance tuning and SRE
- Familiarity with progressive delivery techniques (e.g., feature flags, canary releases)
