Job Summary
Lead day-to-day management and governance of the QCCUK Scheduling function, acting as the local escalation point for UK scheduling and day-of-operations issues. Provide coaching and direction to Aircrew Schedulers and crew-to-ground support resources while overseeing short-term operational scheduling, including roster administration, open time, standby, and resource allocation. Strengthen local scheduling standards by documenting processes, developing SOPs, and ensuring effective document control for work practices and manuals. Build relationships with QCCUK leaders, Sydney Crewing Operations, and IOC teams to improve information flow and stakeholder confidence. Support payroll-related scheduling, annual leave allocation, and regional reporting, while identifying opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements. Lead team performance, development, recruitment, and onboarding to foster a high-performing culture aligned with Qantas Group values.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in scheduling, crewing operations, resource planning, airline operations or a similarly regulated operational environment
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach, develop and support team members while creating an inclusive and high-performing culture
- Strong process management skills, including the ability to document procedures, identify gaps and establish practical, compliant and sustainable ways of working
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across teams, functions and time zones
- Strong operational judgement and the ability to make effective decisions in time-critical, complex, or ambiguous situations
- The confidence to lead change, establish credibility and respectfully challenge existing practices where improvements can be made
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate operational knowledge into clear, repeatable, and well-documented processes
- A calm, resilient and adaptable approach, with the flexibility to support a global operation and respond effectively to operational priorities when required
