Job Summary

Lead the Closing Team in visual inspections, shipping, and final preparation of standard and custom HVAC units. Conduct start-of-shift meetings to communicate schedules, priorities, and safety issues. Work from computerized Quality Management System components including production schedules, inventory records, and bills of materials. Assign work, resolve sub-assembly and schedule adjustment problems, and report material shortages to purchasing. Perform final shipping functions including creating packing lists, validating unit destinations with carrier drivers, loading trucks, and obtaining load signatures. Maintain clean work areas and consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license (implied by 'determine and validate unit destination with carrier driver' and 'obtaining signatures for loads' in a shipping role)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs
  • Ability to push with up to 120 lbs of force
  • Ability to pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to occasionally push and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, and reach
  • Ability to constantly reach, kneel, and climb ladders
  • Ability to visually inspect closed units noting any nonconforming issues
  • Ability to create and apply serial numbers
  • Ability to apply required labels and stickers
  • Ability to secure uninstalled components
  • Ability to secure and bolt doors
  • Ability to perform final cleaning
  • Ability to create packing lists
  • Ability to work from computerized Quality Management System (QMS) components including production schedules, inventory records, pull lists, bills of materials, Engineering Change Notifications (ECN), diagrams, and work instructions
  • Ability to manually modify records in MRP system
  • Ability to operate large oversized fork lift
  • Ability to operate overhead crane
  • Ability to operate rigging fixture
  • Ability to operate hand and hand power tools
  • Ability to operate scale
  • Ability to use computer and related specialty systems software and peripherals
  • Ability to obtain approvals
  • Ability to resolve problems
  • Ability to maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies
  • Ability to consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements
  • Ability to wear Safety Glasses – ANSI Z87.1
  • Ability to wear Gloves – ANSI Cut 3 4544
  • Ability to wear Chemical Gloves – Nitrile
  • Ability to wear Foot Protection, Steel Toe – ASTM F2413-11
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to pass a background check
