Team Lead, Clinical Documentation Improvement

Job Summary
Monitor CDI team productivity, assign chart reviews, and conduct second-level audits for coding and quality teams. Perform biannual team chart review audits, prescreen charts to identify CDI opportunities, and resolve work-queue accounts using departmental prioritization rules. Supervise daily chart review processes, guide staff via secure chat, and coordinate initial training for new hires while delivering physician education on clinical documentation improvement. Compile presentations and assist with DRG reconciliation. In the director's absence, plan and manage all day-to-day operations of the CDI department. Work 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, in an office or home office environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's degree
- RN license
- CCDS/CDIP certification
- Minimum 5 years experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement
- Expert-level knowledge and mastery of the entire CDI scope of duties
