Job Summary
Lead the 1st shift operations team Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm in Sycamore, Illinois. Monitor and report daily department production while driving and maintaining a safe, clean working environment. Delegate tasks to team members, provide direction on semi-complex production activities, and initiate quality and productivity corrections. Manage 6S principles, communicate production metrics, and ensure all employees are appropriately trained on job tasks and facility policies. Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine setups. Provide feedback on employee performance and assist in managing attendance and scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to follow verbal and written multi-step directions for semi-complex tasks
- Visual acuity and hand dexterity to package and assemble a variety of materials
- Color and depth perception for selected tasks
- Ability to perform routine computer data entry and queries
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to read and follow job instructions, complete written forms, and effectively communicate with others
- Ability to provide day-to-day floor leadership to a diverse work group
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and make informed decisions relating to area of responsibility
- Computer proficiency, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook email
- OSHA approved powered industrial truck license
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of relevant experience
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 lbs. up to 64 inches
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs for up to 64 inches
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift and carry 42 lb bucket 10ft
- Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs of force at waist height
- Must be able to continuously stand/walk and/or sit during a 9 - 10 hour shift
- Must be able to frequent squatting/crouching, reach, and bend
- Must wear the required personal protective equipment
- Must be available for overtime or on-call shifts
- Must be able to follow all safety procedures
- Must be able to contribute to special projects frequently, implementing kanban and kaizen initiatives
- Must be able to communicate production metrics and optimization efforts
- Must be able to ensure that all employees within area of responsibility are appropriately trained and/or cross-trained on job tasks and company/facility policies and procedures
- Must be able to monitor and maintain all equipment within area of responsibility
- Must be able to perform a variety of semi-complex production tasks including, but not limited to, advanced machine setups, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of equipment
- Must be able to provide feedback to the Manager/Supervisor on employee performance and development opportunities
- Must be able to assist Manager/Supervisor in managing employee attendance and scheduling employee time off
- Must have regular, predictable attendance
