Job Summary
Oversee diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injuries for all players, conducting physical exams, pre-participation evaluations, and injury assessments. Provide medical coverage during home games and consultations during away games and travel while collaborating with athletic trainers, physical therapists, and coaching staffs on rehabilitation protocols. Lead return-to-play clearance decisions based on functional testing and clinical exams, ensuring compliance with league protocols and best practices. Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and stay current on concussion protocols, anti-doping policies, and health initiatives. This role serves as the lead medical authority for the Dallas Bulls, safeguarding player health and supporting performance within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) with an active medical license in the state of Texas
- Board certified in Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, or related specialty
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in sports medicine, preferably at the collegiate or professional level
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and concussion management protocols
- Demonstrated experience working with athletic trainers, physical therapists, and high-performance staff
