Job Summary
Deliver lectures on general pathology using interactive formats, develop course materials including slides and learning objectives, and write or review examination questions. Support students through office hours, academic tutoring, and mentorship on core concepts and scientific reasoning. Contribute to curriculum development, educational quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings while engaging in scholarship related to medical education. Participate in faculty development activities and teaching evaluations. This role offers structured mentorship in higher education teaching and assessment for recent PhD graduates preparing for academic medicine careers.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or ABD in Pathology or a closely related biomedical science field by the start date
- DVM degree
- Genuine interest in teaching and student engagement
- Strong foundation in general pathology, disease mechanisms, and biomedical sciences
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students
- Commitment to inclusive, learner-centered education
Desired Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience as a graduate instructor, teaching assistant, tutor, or guest lecturer
- Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or educational assessment
