Job Summary
Teaching Assistant for TOUR 3Q97 - Events Management at Brock University. Responsibilities include seminar material preparation, student consultation, marking and grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, office hours, and various course administration tasks as per CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1 collective agreement. Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree in Tourism or have completed an Honours Degree in Tourism or equivalent
- Applicant must have an average of 80% or higher in 2 undergraduate degree courses in the area of Tourism Management or an equivalent undergraduate course area
- Applicant must have strong knowledge and past course experience in the area of Event Management or equivalent
- Previous successful undergraduate teaching and marking experience is an asset
- Computer literacy, familiarity with evaluation of electronically submitted assignments, and a working knowledge of Sakai
- Work experience in the tourism industry is an asset
- Ability to perform the various duties of the position
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- High level of interpersonal skills and effective verbal communication
- Academic integrity and professionalism
- Equivalency will be determined by the course instructor
