Job Summary
Implement required curricula in the classroom while guiding and facilitating children's daily activities, field trips, and social skill development. Write weekly observations, assist in conducting health and environment checks, and maintain accurate time sheets. Accompany lead teachers on home visits and parent conferences to discuss individual child progress and assist in developing observational skills. Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans or Individual Family Service Plans, distribute family information, and participate in staff training, meetings, and board sessions. Cooperate with staff to maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate environment and assist in recruiting and orienting volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- A two year degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Qualifications of an assistant child care worker as stated in the applicable ODJFS licensing requirements
- Knowledge and experience with the basic principles of child development
- Proof of a physical examination within the last six months, which includes a tuberculosis test, and comply with other background checks as required by the Agency and/or ODJFS licensing
- Emotional maturity
- Willingness to coöperate with the aims of the program

- Good personal hygiene
- Physical and mental health which does not interfere with responsibilities
