Teaching Assistant (Phase 2 or CTW Community)

Job Summary
Implement individualized goals and adaptive teaching methods in classroom and community settings to promote independence in daily living and social skills. Provide direct assistance with personal care, health maintenance, and activities of daily living while monitoring safety and well-being. Support community integration by facilitating recreational, vocational, and social activities, including transportation to outings and appointments. Document progress notes, behavioral data, and health-related activities in compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to ensure meaningful engagement and adherence to individual treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Valid Arkansas Driver's License
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License if required
- First Aid and CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintained throughout employment
- Ability to lift and transfer adults
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to utilize technology for documentation and communication
Desired Qualifications
- CNA Certificate
- Two years of experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
