Job Summary
Conduct scheduled contact time with students, including attending lectures, holding office hours, and providing advisory and tutoring support in advanced statistics, Python, and R programming. Prepare seminar materials, manage online courses through Brightspace for document posting and assessment, and evaluate student work via grading and commenting. Proctor examinations and fulfill other course administration duties as required. This role involves working on campus as needed within the University's academic terms.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree
- Proven competency in the subject matter
- Demonstrated track record encompassing ADVANCED STATISTICS
- Demonstrated track record encompassing PYTHON PROGRAMING/CODING
- Demonstrated track record encompassing R PROGRAMING/CODING
- Previous experience as a TA
- Demonstrated evidence of working with students in an advisory and/or tutoring capacity, in quantitative and technical areas
- Demonstrated evidence of managing online courses
- Demonstrable competencies in lecturing and managing large online audiences in an instructional setting
- Demonstrable competencies in evaluating student work in online courses
- Demonstrable competencies in assigning, managing, grading, and advising pertinent to online student assessment items
- Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with ALL functions of Brightspace
- Comprehensive documentation for demonstrated and specific accounts of past accomplishments pertinent to the points above
