Job Summary
Teaching Assistant for GEOG 3P45 - Historical Geographies: Environment & Planning. Duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required). Qualifications require enrolled in or having completed a postgraduate degree or Honours Degree in Human Geography or equivalent; 4 full credits in Human Geography with at least 75% average; a high course grade in the target course; demonstrated undergraduate teaching experience or small group leadership; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed a Honours Degree in Human Geography or equivalent*
- Completion of 4 full credits in Human Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Human Geography courses completed (or equivalent*)
- Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be teaching assistant with a final grade of 75% or higher in that course (or equivalent*)
- Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching experience or equivalent small group leadership in an undergraduate context
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines
