Job Summary
Teaching Assistant for GEOG 2P13 Fall D2 at Brock University. Duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as required. Roles also include course coordination and lab demonstrator responsibilities. Qualifications call for a postgraduate degree or an Honours Degree in Geography or equivalent, with completion of Geography coursework having an overall average of 75% or higher, and demonstrated undergraduate teaching or small-group leadership experience, plus strong communication and organizational skills. Positions are on campus at the St. Catharines Main Campus and are subject to the Collective Agreement terms.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed a Honours Degree in Geography or equivalent*
- Completion of 4 full credits in Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Geography courses completed (or equivalent*)
- Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching experience or equivalent small group leadership in an undergraduate context
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines
