Job Summary

Teaching Assistant duties include scheduled contact time with students, seminar material preparation, student consultation, marking and grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration for GEOG 1P10 — Our Environment: Climate, Weather, Ecosystems. The role requires completion of the Geog 1P10 course with a final grade of 75% or higher, and may involve course coordination and lab demonstration responsibilities. Compensation follows CUPE 4207 rates: undergraduate rate at $23.30/hour or graduate rate at $36.67/hour, with additional duties compensated accordingly. Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate degree or have completed an Honours Degree in Physical Geography or equivalent
  • Completion of 4 full credits in Physical Geography with an overall average of 75% or higher in all Physical Geography courses completed (or equivalent)
  • Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be a teaching assistant with a final grade of 75% or higher in that course (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated successful undergraduate teaching experience or equivalent small group leadership in an undergraduate context
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet stipulated deadlines
