Job Summary
Teaching Assistant for CRIM 4P01 Fall D2 at Brock University. Responsibilities include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking/grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required. Qualifications require a Master’s or Honours degree in Sociology or equivalent, with consideration given to current Honours students; demonstrated teaching competence and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines. Compensation varies by degree held: undergraduate rate ($23.30/hour) or graduate rate ($36.67/hour), with additional duties compensated at the TA rate. Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree or Honours Degree in Sociology or equivalent
- If vacancies remain, students enrolled in an Honours Program (completed 15 or more credits) in Sociology or equivalent with an 80% average or higher will be considered
- Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be TA with final grade 75% or higher (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated teaching competence (e.g., summaries of course evaluations, faculty evaluations)
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
