Job Summary
Teaching Assistant position for CRIM 3P96 - Human Migration in a Globalized World at Brock University. Duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (seminar material preparation, student consultation, marking/grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as required). Qualifications require a Masters Degree or Honours Degree in Sociology or equivalent, with consideration for current Honours students (minimum 80% average) and demonstrated teaching competence. Applicants should be prepared to explain how their degree and training are equivalent, identify the course for consideration of equivalency, and provide supporting transcripts or descriptions as needed. Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree or Honours Degree in Sociology or equivalent
- If vacancies remain, students enrolled in an Honours Program (completed 15 or more credits) in Sociology or equivalent with an 80% average or higher will be considered
- Completion of the course for which the applicant wishes to be TA with a final grade of 75% or higher (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated teaching competence (e.g., summary of previous course evaluations, faculty evaluations)
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
