Job Summary
Teaching Assistant duties include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom tasks such as seminar material preparation, student consultation, marking/grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration for the CUPE Local 4207-1 assignment. Requires an Honours BA in Communication Studies or equivalent with a minimum final grade of 75%; compensation aligns with undergraduate/graduate TA rates as described. Part-time on-campus position with opportunities to support course content and student learning throughout Fall terms.
Required Qualifications
- An Honours BA in Communication Studies, or an equivalent program
- Candidate must have completed the course in question, or university-level equivalent, with a minimum final grade of 75%
- Evidence of strong writing skills (university-level papers, awards, or publications)
- Strong interpersonal and group communication skills
- Professionalism in supporting course content, leading seminars, and meeting deadlines
