Job Summary
Assist instructors with company-created curriculum to help advanced students grasp complex math concepts. Work one-on-one with students during class activities, provide additional help when needed, and maintain an organized learning environment for up to 16 students. Support grading and provide constructive feedback on student work while connecting with students and staff to encourage their academic growth. Foster critical thinking and curiosity in an engaging afterschool setting. This in-person role at our San Mateo campus requires availability for weekday after-school hours and weekends, with a minimum commitment of about three hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Possess strong math skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
- Exceptional written and spoken communication
- Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is not required, but a plus
- In order to be considered for this position you must be legally authorized to work in the US
- Candidates must be located in San Mateo or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus
- Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends
- This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
