Job Summary
Support instructors with company-created curriculum to help advanced students grasp complex concepts. Work one-on-one with students during class activities, assist in grading, and provide constructive feedback on student work. Help maintain an organized learning environment while managing up to 16 students and fostering critical thinking. Connect with students and staff to encourage their learning journey and academic growth. This role requires availability for weekday after-school hours starting at 4pm and weekends, with a minimum commitment of three hours per week per class. The position is based at our San Diego campus for in-person instruction. Hourly rate is $17.50, including paid sick leave and employee discounts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old or older
- Possess strong math skills with the ability to help students navigate advanced concepts
- Exceptional written and spoken communication
- Positive and encouraging attitude that helps students feel comfortable asking questions
- Detail-oriented and organized
- In order to be considered for this position you must be legally authorized to work in the US
- Candidates must be located in San Diego or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus
- Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends
- This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class
- The team is seeking a Teaching Assistant who is available on the specified days: Wednesdays at 4 pm
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with/interest in working with younger students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is not required, but a plus
