Teaching Assistant - Afterschool (Downtown Locations)

Job Summary
Greet students during snack time, take attendance, and oversee dismissal and transitions between activities. Work with teachers to provide a safe environment, implement daily recreational and sports activities, and support children through individualized education plans. Maintain open communication with the program director, activity specialists, and other staff while assisting in planning specialty classes. This role requires punctuality, reliability, and compassion to set a nurturing tone for elementary students in NYC public schools. Candidates must have previous experience working with children, preferably in an after-school program, and possess excellent communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Successful previous experience working with children
- 2+ years of classroom experience
- currently pursuing a degree in education or a related field
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
