Job Summary
Teaching Assistant duties include scheduled contact time with students, preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking/grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as required. Qualifications include completed undergraduate degree with ADST 5P74 (>85) and demonstrated ABA/Behavioral Psychology experience; familiarity with disability studies is a plus; prior teaching experience with ABA at graduate or undergraduate level; strong communication, feedback, and time-management skills; ability to work on campus in ST. Catharines or online as needed; proficiency with Brightspace and video conferencing tools; availability for diverse delivery formats (in-person, online, synchronous, asynchronous). This role supports part-time Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator duties under CUPE Local 4207 in the Fall/Winter terms.
Required Qualifications
- Completed undergraduate degree and previous completion of ADST 5P74 with >85 grade
- Demonstrated relevant Graduate coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and/or Behavioral Psychology
- Demonstrated experience in ABA
- Demonstrated experience in disability studies considered an asset
- Previous experience in teaching principles of ABA to graduate or undergraduate students and/or clinical staff members an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback
- Ability to prioritize work and meet agreed upon deadlines
- Available to attend in ST.CATHARINES and/or attend online synchronous and asynchronous course support – weekday/evenings/weekend
- Experience using Brightspace or other learning management systems
- Experience using video conferencing platforms (e.g., Lifesize, Microsoft Teams)
- Available for in person, online, email and phone office hours during the week
