Job Summary
Teaching Assistant responsibilities include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, and providing course administration across Fall/Winter terms; requires completing an undergraduate degree and relevant ABA/Behavioural Psychology experience, with additional duties compensated at TA rates. Availability for in-person, online synchronous and asynchronous support in St. Catharines, with flexible delivery and adherence to CUPE Local 4207 Collective Agreement. Emphasis on communicating effectively, prioritizing deadlines, and supporting course delivery using Brightspace and common video-conferencing tools.
Required Qualifications
- Completed undergraduate degree
- ABA and/or Behavioural Psychology experience
- Experience in ABA teaching principles to graduate or undergraduate students and/or clinical staff members (asset)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Available to attend in person/on campus and online support
- Experience using Brightspace or similar LMS
- Experience with video conferencing platforms (Lifesize, Microsoft Teams)
- Available for on-campus and online office hours
- Experience in course administration and grading/marking
- Demonstrated teaching experience
- Disability studies considered an asset
