Job Summary

Teaching Artist at Stark Museum of Art delivers curriculum-based studio art experiences for Pre-K-12 students and the public, onsite, offsite, and digitally. Develops and facilitates Summer Art Quest camps for Pre-K-5, CREATE! Workshops for multi-generational audiences, and Adult Studio Art Workshops for adults 16+. Manages art supplies, maintains classroom spaces and gallery Education Areas, and assists Education Department with school programming, community outreach, public programming, digital programming, community gallery exhibitions, and visitor research. Requires strong public speaking and ability to work with diverse age groups; supports museum mission with professional, courteous service and collaboration in cross-functional teams. Experience in teaching or working with children and a high school diploma are required; a bachelor’s degree and college studio art coursework are preferred. Physical duties include moving supplies and occasional off-site outreach; schedule approximately 12-15 hours/week during the school year (about 750 hours/year).

Required Qualifications

  • Teaching experience or experience working with children such as camp counseling or afterschool care
