Job Summary
Teacher Assistant to work with students with disabilities under the direction of certified personnel. Assist in implementing IEP goals, carry out small group and one-on-one instruction, assist teachers and therapists with data/records, support OT/SLP/PT goals, manage computer skills and communication devices for students, and assist with equipment, sensory, mobility, and self-care plans as needed. Essential physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning students for toileting, etc. Additional duties include observing/charting behavior, providing positive reinforcement, supervising students with self-regulation needs, and assisting with de-escalation as per IEP. Suitable for individuals who can work with students with special needs and behavioral challenges.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability and willingness to work with students who have special needs
- Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning students
