Job Summary
Under the supervision of the 21st CCLC Lead Teacher, the 21st Century CLC Teacher’s Assistant will plan and implement activities in recreation, art, life skills, sports, technology, and other program areas to support academic and social success. Responsibilities include assisting with program development, setup, and delivery; recruiting participants; maintaining schedules and reports; enforcing applicable conduct standards and guidance policies; developing and implementing enrichment activities; coordinating with the Lead Teacher and school district partners; and helping with participant engagement and attendance. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, valid South Carolina driver’s license, strong youth-relations and communication skills, and the ability to create a positive, safe environment. Work hours are 7:30am–5:30pm at the Beaufort, SC location; non-exempt status.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to relate to youth, parents, and the public in a positive, professional manner
- Ability to convey organizational policies and procedures to participants
- Ability to organize and supervise participants to maintain a safe environment
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, energy, and commitment in interactions with participants, parents, supervisors, and the public
- Ability to drive (preferred) with valid SC driver’s license
- Plans and implements activities within budget constraints under guidance of Lead Teacher
- Coordinates with Lead Teacher for attendance and disciplinary procedures
