Job Summary
Teaching Assistant/Instructional Aide for an Extended Year Program supports the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and implementing IEP goals, ensures student safety in all environments, facilitates independence and social/language development, assists with inclusion of students with special needs, and participates in data collection and targeted trainings. Responsibilities include supervising students during lunch and on the playground, assisting with summer field trips (including swimming), and performing other duties assigned by the classroom teacher, program principal, or executive director. Requires ability to lift ~40 lbs and willingness to work with aggressive students; requires fingerprint and CORI screening clearance. Located in Stoneham, Massachusetts for a summer program.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, Associates or Bachelor degree
- Experience working with children with special needs preferred
- Must be able to lift, pull or push approximately 40 lbs
- Must be willing to work with verbally and/or physically aggressive students
- Employment contingent upon passing SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening
