Teachers Aide, Day Shift, Therapeutic Nursery Program

Job Summary
As a Teachers Aide in the Therapeutic Nursery program, you will support the classroom teacher by providing individual instruction to students, assist in material development, support students during group activities and therapy sessions, and help track progress toward academic and social-emotional goals. You will observe and record student behavior data, implement recommendations from reports and IEPs, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, pursue ongoing professional education, and perform other duties as assigned to support students with special needs in a Head Start setting. This role requires strong collaboration with teachers and staff to help students achieve outcomes and may involve assisting with Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Plans for assigned students at Lourie Center School. Salary range listed is $18.00–$22.79 per hour with full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, in Rockville, MD.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology or other related discipline preferred
- Minimum of one year work experience with special needs students is required
- Basic knowledge of student and/or adolescent development issues is required
