Job Summary
Coordinate individualized instruction for students on your caseload, implementing daily lesson plans aligned with NYS Learning Standards and IEP goals. Manage classroom environments to ensure safety and hygiene while demonstrating effective behavioral interventions. Supervise teacher aides and volunteers, assigning tasks and training staff in accordance with organizational policies. Compile accurate data collection records, complete NYSAA data-folios, and submit written reports per department timelines. Collaborate with the treatment team, parents, and other professionals to develop and monitor student programs. This leave replacement role begins 9/1/26 and ends 2/1/27 at the Children's Center in Commack.
Required Qualifications
- NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education
- Demonstrates ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Uses effective English in their oral and written communication
- Displays poise and maturity in their relations with fellow staff, parents and students
- Must be able to assist in performing frequent daily lifting of individuals with disabilities (ages 2-21) weighing approximately twenty-five through one hundred and twenty-five pounds
- Must be available for leave replacement beginning 9/1/26 and ending approximately 2/1/27
