Job Summary
Conduct individualized instruction for students on caseloads aligned with NYS Learning Standards and IEP goals. Manage classroom environments through behavioral interventions, lesson planning, and daily supervision of teacher aides and volunteers. Coordinate with CSE/CPSE referrals, treatment teams, and parents to ensure safe, nurturing learning experiences. Compile accurate data records, complete NYSAA folios, and submit required reports per department timelines. Provide direct supervision to staff, assist with student mobility, and participate in team meetings for IEP development. This leave replacement role begins September 1, 2026, and ends February 1, 2027.
Required Qualifications
- NYS Teaching Certification in Special Education
- Demonstrates ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Uses effective English in their oral and written communication
- Displays poise and maturity in their relations with fellow staff, parents and students
- Must be able to assist in performing frequent daily lifting of individuals with disabilities (ages 2-21) weighing approximately twenty-five through one hundred and twenty-five pounds
- Must be available for leave replacement beginning 9/1/26 and ending approximately 2/1/27
