Job Summary
Teach Theater to students in grades K-8, setting ambitious learning goals and creating cognitively demanding tasks aligned to standards. Differentiate instruction to scaffold complex thinking for all learners while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and identities. Engage families in collaborative relationships to support student learning and regularly reflect on practice within a professional adult learning community. This role supports the OGPS community's vision of purposeful learning and student leadership within a Transformation School model.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- valid Massachusetts Teaching License for Theater, all levels
- Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the BPS
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching in urban schools
- fluent in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, & Somali
- certified in their subject area and one or both of the following: Moderate Disabilities, English as a Second Language (at the appropriate grade level(s))
