Job Summary
Teacher role at The Corner School, London area, delivering tailored, trauma-informed lessons for up to 6 primary-aged children with SEMH needs. Plan, teach and assess learning, lead and support the class team (HLTA and Teaching Assistant), collaborate with therapists and leadership, and maintain clear records of progress. Apply trauma-aware approaches to regulate, engage and build resilience, with opportunities for future subject leadership. Evidence of QTS (or progress toward it) and experience in primary education, phonics, and SEMH is required; role includes safeguarding responsibilities, a strong emphasis on wellbeing, and participation in CPD.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it
- Experience teaching primary-aged children including planning, assessment and target setting
- Experience teaching phonics and supporting early reading development
- Experience working with children with special educational needs and/or SEMH needs
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum (KS1 and KS2)
- Ability to lead, support and develop others within a class team
- Good IT skills to support teaching and record-keeping
- Commitment to safeguarding and safer recruitment practices
