Job Summary
The Teacher Support Specialist will serve as a coach in instruction and compliance, guiding the development and adherence to IEPs and 504 plans, overseeing MTSS and FBA/BIP processes, and ensuring compliant delivery of specially designed instruction. Responsibilities include mentoring MTSS teams, facilitating IEP planning and 504 eligibility, collaborating with school and district leadership, analyzing assessment data to align instruction with IEP goals, training staff on FBA/BIP processes, and delivering professional learning aligned with state initiatives. The role emphasizes data-driven planning, accountability, and capacity-building among special education teachers to support students with disabilities and ensure meaningful progress.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education
- Minimum of five years of experience providing services to students with disabilities
- Experience analyzing assessment data and recommending instructional strategies, interventions, and/or specially designed instruction
- Experience training and developing skills through professional development
