Job Summary
Consult eligible students with disabilities by preparing documents for ARD/IEP meetings, developing instructional programs, and administering criterion-referenced testing. Collaborate with regular education teachers and related service staff to establish PLAAFPs and annual goals, while overseeing paraprofessional training in data collection and instructional strategies. Collect and maintain student progress data, report on IEP objectives, and provide appropriate behavior management techniques. Deliver personal care as identified in applicable student IEPs and communicate regularly with general education staff and parents regarding student needs. Maintain confidential records, attend required trainings on autism and structured settings, and apply state-of-the-art educational practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area
- Ability to work effectively between the school and community
- Effective written & verbal communication skills
- CPI Certificate, once employed
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities
- Control behavior through physical restraint
- Assist non-ambulatory students
