Teacher - Special Needs Pre-K

Provide Pre-K special education students with learning activities designed to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare instructional materials tailored to individual student ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned. Participate in IEP conferences covering behavior management plans, functional analysis, placement, and annual reviews. Develop strategies for maintaining a conducive classroom environment while utilizing effective teaching methods and instructional techniques appropriate to student maturity and needs. Provide diagnostic testing, identify capabilities, and monitor progress regularly. Maintain accurate records per law and policy. Communicate with parents individually or in small groups and consult with professional staff regarding educational programs.
