Teacher Special Educator, HSEP

Job Summary
Provide direct special education services to students with disabilities in both general education and separate settings; develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on data, monitor progress toward IEP goals, and implement systematic, multisensory instructional approaches. Collaborate with general education, special education, and related services staff; administer formal and informal assessments to inform decisions about learning goals and instructional approaches; accommodate and modify instruction to support inclusion in the general education setting; support reading/literacy, math, written language, and social-emotional-behavior goals; contribute to data collection and analysis to drive instructional decisions; perform related duties as assigned by leadership within the Office of Student Services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Special Education required
- Massachusetts Certification of students with mild/moderate or severe special needs 5-12 required
- Master's degree preferred (concentration in learning disabilities preferred)
- Specialized training/certification in a foundational reading program such as Orton-Gillingham or Wilson Reading
- Experience teaching or student teaching in urban environments
