Job Summary
Special Education Teacher at Bellingham High School provides direct and indirect instructional support in a therapeutic environment, develops and implements IEPs with SMART goals, administers standardized assessments, adheres to state and federal SPED laws, employs instructional strategies to develop sensory, language, cognitive, and behavioral skills, collaborates to support SEL, implements positive behavioral supports, modifies the general education curriculum for students with disabilities, plans integrated instructional activities, maintains records, and participates in multidisciplinary collaboration to support students' educational, physical, and social-emotional development. Requires MA DESE Certification in Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8 or 5-12); SEI Endorsement; Master’s Degree preferred; experience in inclusion settings and with elementary students. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate MA DESE Certification Required in Moderate Disabilities (Prek-8 or 5-12)
- Massachusetts Certification in Elementary 1-6, Preferred (if applicable)
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- Experience working with students within inclusion, small group and individual settings
- Experience delivering specialized instruction targeting individual student goals
- SEI Endorsement Course Required
