Job Summary
The classroom teacher will lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating the district curriculum standards and objectives into meaningful learning experiences through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, utilizing data to inform instruction, employing a variety of instructional and management techniques, creating lesson plans aligned with IEP goals, using district-adopted materials, integrating technology to enhance learning, collaborating with parents and other staff, and maintaining a positive classroom environment to support student achievement. Requires Arizona teaching certification and commitment to inclusive teaching practices, ongoing assessment, and adherence to district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate, appropriate for subject area
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- evidence of highly qualified status
- three letters of recommendation
- transcript of credits
- course work should include Foundations of special education, behavior management techniques, assessment and evaluation methods, instructional strategies for students with disabilities and inclusive teaching practices
