Job Summary
Provide Special Education instruction and support to students, developing or modifying curricula and lessons to align with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborate with parents, staff, and ARD committees to create and implement IEPs, assess student learning styles, and employ varied instructional techniques and technology to meet diverse needs. Work with classroom teachers to adapt regular curricula, participate in ARD meetings, select appropriate instructional materials, maintain confidentiality, and foster a positive learning environment. Maintain systems for documentation and compliance with district, state, and federal regulations, and support professional development aligned with district goals. Supervise Instructional Aides and contribute to student growth and development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required Special Education endorsements for subject and level assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
