Job Summary
Special Education Teacher (Inclusion/Resource) at Grapevine Elementary School provides students with appropriate learning experiences in core subjects, develops and implements lesson plans aligned with district and TEA guidelines, and adapts instruction to meet diverse learning needs. The roleCollaborates with other teachers to modify curricula per IEP, plans and assesses student learning using formal and informal methods, supervises teacher aides/volunteers, integrates technology, and maintains open communication with parents and staff. Responsibilities include managing the classroom, planning extracurricular activities as assigned, and contributing to professional development and school committees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorth degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- At least one-year student teaching or approved internship
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Knowledge of core academic subject area
- Experience with planning and supervising teacher aides or volunteers
- Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Commitment to meeting district, state and school policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff
- Experience implementing IEP goals and collaborating with SPED staff
- Experience using assessment data to guide instruction
