Job Summary
Provide quality instruction aligned to the state and national standards for Special Education (DCD-SP) in Webster, Minneapolis Public Schools. Use diagnostic, formative and summative assessments to inform instructional decisions; engage students in rigorous, inquiry-based tasks; collaborate with peers to plan and implement best practices; communicate regularly with families and utilize community resources to support learning. Work as part of the campus STEM team if needed; ensure lessons are safe, respectful, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate; require 1.0 FTE (42 weeks); Bachelor's Degree plus Minnesota teaching license (or pending licensure); Master's or PhD preferred. The role emphasizes collaboration, assessment of student needs, and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- A valid Developmental Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disabilities, Mild to Moderate Mentally Handicapped, Mildly Handicapped or Academic and Behavioral Strategist Minnesota teaching license; or proof of pending approved licensure
- Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting.
