Job Summary
Implement district-approved curriculum and ABA instructional strategies, including discrete trial instruction, functional communication training, and incidental teaching for elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans, conduct skills-based assessments, and coordinate Individualized Education Programs in compliance with IDEA regulations. Maintain accurate records, document student progress, and enforce formal behavior support plans to reduce challenging behaviors. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including BCBA, OT, PT, and speech pathologists, while training and supervising classroom-based support staff. Engage in ongoing professional development and build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues within a self-contained classroom setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of two years of experience in an ABA setting and/or working with autistic and/or neurodiverse students
- Proficiency in implementing ABA strategies and inclusionary practices
- Strong skills in data-driven instruction and curriculum planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Massachusetts Educator Licensure in MOD DIS PK-8, SEVERE DIS PK-8
Desired Qualifications
- At least one year of experience supervising classroom staff
- Familiarity with research-based assessments and curriculum tools (i.e., ABLLS-R, AFLS, VB-MAPP, Teachtown, STAR Program)
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, diverse student populations, and urban school settings
- Proficiency in integrating technology and media into instruction
- Bilingual applicants (Spanish)
