Job Summary
The classroom teacher will lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating district curriculum standards into meaningful learning experiences for students with disabilities; responsibilities include creating IEP-based lesson plans and instructional materials, implementing diverse instructional and management techniques, using technology to enhance learning, collecting and analyzing student achievement data to inform decisions, maintaining a positive classroom and campus environment, collaborating with parents and other staff, and supporting safety and well-being of students while meeting required certifications and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate, appropriate for subject area
- Course work should include Foundations of special education, behavior management techniques, assessment and evaluation methods
- instructional strategies for students with disabilities and inclusive teaching practices
