Job Summary
Conduct direct instruction in academic subjects, daily living skills, cognitive processing, and vocational training for middle school students with autism spectrum disorder within the Applied Behavioral Learning (ABL) Program. Implement research-based protocols including discrete trial instruction, pivotal response training, and generalization strategies while managing behavior challenges and supporting targeted inclusion. Collaborate with the Chief of Pupil Services, Autism Specialist, and school principal to coordinate Individual Education Plans (IEP) meetings, assessments using tools like ABLLS-R and VB-MAPP, and multi-disciplinary team services. Supervise ABL paraprofessionals, maintain special education records, and establish positive relationships with parents and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 3 years working in an ABA setting
- Minimum of 1 year supervising classroom staff
- Must possess Massachusetts Educators Licensure in Moderate or Severe Special Needs, All Levels
- Experience with implementation of ABA strategies, including discrete trial training, pivotal response training, PECS training, data collection, and behavior plan
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications
- RBT Training Preferred
- CPI Training Preferred
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, strongly preferred
- Experience working in an urban setting, preferred
- Experience working with diverse student populations, preferred
- Experience with using media and technology to target learning
